In-studio Courses
Our in-studio courses are great for those who want to build both skills and community. During this series of classes, we help you build out your repertoire of moves and moods, and share our love and appreciation for the history (and the future) of Bachata and Salsa.

Zair
Zair is a salsa and bachata dancer who has been dancing at family parties since he was a kid, and has trained formally at different studios internationally. Zair believes in the importance of building intentional spaces that bring in community and also empower folks to move their bodies in the ways that feel best for them. As a queer Puerto Rican, Zair enjoys teaching a blend of traditional and modern dance techniques that explore playfulness and creativity. When he’s not on the dance floor (or at work), Zair spends his time mentoring LGBTQ+ youth, blogging about popular themes in tech, and hanging out with his family.

Zen
QPOC leader and advocate: Zen is a salsa and bachata dancer with over a decade of experience. From Hong Kong to San Diego, they have seen first-hand how the power of social dancing can transcend borders, language barriers, and cultural differences through the fluidity of movement, gender expression and shared joy. As co-founder of The Ayah Project (USA's first 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to supporting LGBTQ+ Muslims) Zen is committed to advocating for the community on a national and international scale. The aim is not to be perfect, but to be free. Until then, as Rumi said, "dance, when you’re broken open. Dance, if you’ve torn the bandage off. Dance in the middle of the fighting. Dance in your blood. Dance when you're perfectly free."
